update on a long-running conflict

For years, the city of Cambridge and the Harvard Lampoon have been engaged in a dispute over whether there should be a tree in the square directly in front of the Lampoon Castle's front door.

The latest salvo: Cambridge has decided to name the square after David Halberstam -- of the rival Harvard publication, the Crimson.

I am amused.
